Anna the Beautician

Anna decided yesterday that her hair was too long. While she was supposed to be laying down taking a nap, she found Gabe's scissors from his desk drawer and cut her bangs. Thank goodness that was all she cut!! She did a pretty good job getting it straight across also. It really just looks like I cut them way too short!! I did have to trim up the edges just a bit and I will be able to tell when they start to grow out a bit more. At least she didn't take off the beautiful curls on the side or back.

I sure love her!! I am also thankful that she didn't cut Zoey's hair in her time as a beautician. We had the talk that she doesn't cut her hair, that we go to a special place where she can sit on a special chair. She then whined, "I want to go see Barbie and get a haircut." Thank goodness that is on the list while we are in IL. Not sure if my aunt knows that or not. Now she does!! hahah

Snow Helpers

So, the other day, Gabe and Anna wanted to go outside for a while. Our temps are getting warmer, so our snow is melting. Finally!! [Actually I really want the snow to melt, but I thought it would be neat to have snow to hunt Easter Eggs in. That would be another first for us. Especially since Easter won't be this early for another 227 yrs.] Anyway, since the temps were up, Gabe decided he didn't need snow boots or snow pants just to shovel snow off the patio. Well, you know Anna, she was right behind. Except she didn't take the time to take off her princess dresses before she went out. She is wearing her flip flops also -- the fake crocs.

Gabe managed to push the snow off the patio so it wouldn't be so slick in the morning. Anna had a sand bucket and shovel and kept putting it back on the patio. At least Gabe didn't really notice so he didn't get mad.

My Little Helper

Thank goodness for Gabriel! He wanted to go outside after preschool Thursday and play in the snow. Well, I looked out the window and he was shoveling the front sidewalk for me. We had gotten about a 1/2" of snow that morning. He really likes using his kid sized shovel and helping us. Hopefully that will last when he is bigger. =)

When he got up to the porch, he had to use the shovel and put snow on the porch so he had something to shovel. He is a crazy kid, but a good helper!!

Silly Anna

Wendy and Chris have so graciously given me all the boxes of clothes in their attics and basement that they no longer need and have been saving for me. So, I was rearranging them in our basement so they were stacked better. One of the 6/6x boxes was open and I saw a bright, flowery dress that I just assume was Leah's. Well, as you all know, Leah is getting confirmed this year and the dress really dated itself. So, I put it in the give away pile before Anna could see it. She is faster than one might think! She found it and promptly called it a pretty princess dress and took it up the stairs. So, I have been letting her wear it, but she can't wear it out of the house. =) It is a good length on her, but it is really flowy so I notice her messing with it because it is getting in her way.

Enjoy!!

Happy Valentines Day!

We had a fun family lunch for Valentines Day. My babysitting kids were all sick, so had the day off. Talk about exciting! We went to our local Pizza Ranch for lunch. [They have a good buffet at lunch and we had a free buffet from our punch card. And we hadn't been there for lunch since Gabe started preschool since preschool starts at 12:30. It is a very good thing we went for lunch that day as the Pizza Ranch up and closed Friday night after the food was gone!! Very tramatic for my kids.]

We did presents later that night and had fun.

Pretty Pretty Princesses

As mentioned in an earlier post, Anna is enjoying dressing up as a princess. So, it is a good thing that Zoey likes to dress up also. Some days we do have dueling princesses, but at least we have enough outfits and shoes to go around.

This day the girls were both wearing their own dresses, just used the accessories. (They weren't too sure when Doug joined in on the fun!!) Anna enjoys wearing dresses a lot right now. I guess that means I need to make sure to have both play dresses and church dresses for her!!
